For immediate release: SPORTS / JUDO
The following are the results for the 1999 Colorado State Games Judo
Championships held at the Northglenn Recreation Center. Competitors from
Judo Clubs throughout Colorado competed in the event which is the last
tournament before the summer Junior National tournament season. Competitors
from Colorado will compete in 3 National Championships to be held in
Los Angeles, San Diego, and Miami on 3 consecutive weekends beginning on the
weekend of July 2nd. Winners of all 3 events are given the title of
"Triple Crown" for Junior Judo in the United States. The best players from
the 3 National Championships will travel back to Miami on the next weekend
to compete against players from at least 15 other countries in the 11th
annual Miami Youth International Championships on July 24-25th.
